The Proposal

Dakota and I are high school sweethearts. We met when we were 16 and sophomores in high school. As soon as we started talking, we quickly fell in love and were inseparable. For college, we moved to northern Nevada together, and on weekends, we loved taking day trips to Donner Lake and Lake Tahoe.

One of our favorite lookout spots, especially during winter, is at Donner Lake, and that’s where Dakota proposed about a year and a half ago. We went back to California to visit family in December 2022, and while we were there, Dakota told me we had family pictures scheduled at Donner Lake. When we got to our lookout spot, he surprised me by getting down on one knee. It’s a beautiful moment we’ll both cherish forever

Why do you want to capture your wedding on video?

Capturing our wedding on video is important to us for a couple of reasons. We want to be able to
relive those precious moments when we're old and share them with our kids one day. It's also
important for us to be able to feel the emotions all over again so that years from now, we can look
back and experience it as if we were there again.

Why did you choose us?

We chose Topher Films mainly based on our conversation with Chris, after our initial consultation, we felt confident trusting him to capture our special day, and he made us feel very comfortable. We initially found Topher Films on Instagram, and we absolutely love the work, it’s clear that Chris genuinely enjoys capturing special moments for couples. For our wedding, it was really important to us to wholeheartedly trust our vendors and feel comfortable giving Chris and his team creative freedom.

You guys? …What do you do?..How do you spend your days?.. What’s important in life?

Dakota and I spend a lot of our free time exploring new things and places. We love going on little
adventures whether it's a new restaurant downtown or a mini road trip to a new place we saw online.
During the warmer months, we tend to spend a lot of our time in or around the water. We have a
large dog that loves swimming, so we try to make that a priority during the summer. We feel that it's
important to romanticize your life and try to see as much of the world as you can. Creating new
memories is so important to us and by far our favorite thing to do.

The Venue. Why did you choose it above anywhere else?

As soon as we saw The Grand Lady in person, we fell in love with the venue and immediately knew it was where we would get married. The entire property is stunning and filled with rich history. The staff made us feel so welcome and comfortable right away, which was incredibly important to us in choosing vendors we could fully trust. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the staff and owners of The Grand Lady, and we’re thrilled to work with them and share this beautiful space with our loved ones. We're also captivated by the charm of the house on the property!
