Three years ago, Thaddaeus and Kaela’s lives began to intertwine through a series of events at their local church in Dallas, Texas. Fresh out of college and back in his hometown, Thad was searching for direction and found a welcoming community in the church’s small groups. Coincidentally, Kaela was also building her community, and her friends frequently spoke of Thaddaeus—describing him as witty, creative, and bold. Intrigued by their words, Kaela felt a connection to him before they had even met.

As time passed, their paths crossed at various church gatherings, and they exchanged messages in group chats. Though they didn’t know each other well yet, both Thaddaeus and Kaela sensed there was something uniquely special about one another.

Thaddaeus soon began yearning for a deeper connection and committed to fasting and praying for a wife. One evening, while attending a game night, he prayed, “Lord, if my wife is here tonight, can you reveal her to me? I would like to meet her tonight.” As the night went on, he didn’t feel any immediate sense of connection and decided to leave the event early. On his way to the car, Thaddaeus saw Kaela outside, chatting with a mutual friend. She, too, had left the game night early. Thaddaeus greeted her, and after a brief conversation, he felt a strong connection and was drawn to getting to know her better. Shortly after that encounter, he found himself asking God, "Is she the one? Is Kaela my wife?"

Though that first conversation was brief, it ignited something undeniable between them, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey!

Their friendship deepened over time, and the bond grew even stronger when Thaddaeus experienced a significant personal loss. Sensing his pain, Kaela instinctively reached out with prayers and support. Her compassion during such a challenging time solidified their connection and laid the foundation for something truly special.

What began as a friendship soon blossomed into a profound relationship. They discovered they were kindred spirits—adventurous, goofy, creative, and passionate about art, music, and their faith. They quickly became inseparable, alternating between long phone calls and spending countless hours together in person. Their dates were full of adventure and joy: drive-in movies, dancing, spoken word events, exploring cultural cuisines, axe throwing, hours-long car conversations, and attending church together. These moments, filled with laughter and shared values, made it clear they were meant to be together!

As they continued to spend time together, it became increasingly clear they were destined to share their lives. Now, as they prepare for their wedding, they reflect on how perfectly God aligned their paths and brought them together.

Thaddaeus has brought light and joy into Kaela’s life, helping her rediscover her true self and grow in her God-given identity. His kindness, gentleness in speech, and generosity—through consistent, thoughtful date nights—combined with his unwavering respect for Kaela’s thoughts, feelings, and identity, have shown her the beauty of a man who loves and prioritizes Christ in everything he does. In turn, Kaela has given Thaddaeus a love and strength he didn’t realize he needed. She has provided him with a safe space to be himself: to be silly, to dance, to love, to grieve, to be vulnerable, to express his dreams and concerns, and most importantly, to be valued and appreciated as a man. Together, they’ve experienced personal and spiritual growth beyond what they ever imagined, and they eagerly look forward to walking hand in hand into this new chapter of their lives.
