Jose and I have known each other since we were little. My closest brother, Fernando, and Jose were best friends growing up, which naturally brought Jose and me close as well. Our families would always go to brunch together every Sunday and attend each other’s events. In fact, Jose and I were even paired up for his sister's wedding and played the roles of mini Bride and Groom when we were younger, also at other weddings and quinces. 

As we grew older, we saw each other less and less, to the point where we didn't see each other at all for about four years. Jose and I were never romantically involved, just close family friends.

In 2022, Fernando and I decided to plan a trip to Europe for January 2023. Fernando reached out to Jose, noticing he was traveling and was in Colombia at the time. He told him about our plans, and Jose decided to tag along. We ended up spending three weeks in Europe, and over that time, the way we looked at each other changed. There was a new kind of eye contact between us, and without realizing it, we slowly began to fall in love.

When we returned from our trip, we continued to spend time together, and eventually, our bond grew into a romantic relationship. We started dating on August 12, 2023 and from the beginning, we both knew marriage was something we wanted with each other. Jose proposed on April 12, 2024, and since we both knew we wanted to get married soon, we’re now preparing for our wedding on June 28th with the best videographers and photographers.
